Introducing Umraty Waqfy

Umraty Waqfy is an initiative by Awqaf NZ to promote the concept of Waqf among Muslim communities in the Western world. For the first time, the sacred Umrah ritual is linked to the Sunnah of Waqf, enabling individuals to create a lasting legacy through their spiritual journey.

The Concept of Cash Waqf

Cash Waqf involves monetary contributions used for two purposes:

  1. Qard Hasan (Interest-Free Loans): To support economically and socially feasible projects, such as farms supplying livestock for Qurbani rituals.

  2. Revenue Investment: Generating income to fund community needs, like housing for orphans and the elderly.

How Umraty Waqfy Works

When you perform Umrah with Umraty Waqfy, a portion of the cost (after operational expenses) is placed into a Permanent Cash Waqf under your name. This endowment funds socioeconomic projects, and you receive a personalised Cash Waqf certificate symbolising your contribution.
